Abstract:
Software Architecture-based technologies developed at UCI are being utilized
to model and describe the USAF AWACS mission software system in order
to provide a framework into which emerging technologies can quickly adapted
to AWACS with assurances for successful integration for mission critical
applications.
Under Phase 1 of the DARPA sponsored DASADA program, technologies for
describing architectures (xADL 2.0), building architecture-based systems
(ArchStudio 3), and monitoring such systems (CASSIUS) have been applied
to the actual software emulator for AWACS and the results have been used
to provide candidate application points for cost effective technology
insertion for the actual AWACS mission software.
Our poster describes the limitations existent in current AWACS and describes
how our DARPA sponsored technologies are currently being used to introduce
solutions for these problems.
