Welcome!

Welcome to the Lighthouse homepage. Lighthouse is a coordination tool by the Institute for Software Research at the University of California, Irvine. Lighthouse is implemented as an Eclipse plug-in that addresses three closely related coordination problems:

  1. Understanding how one's ongoing work influences that of others, and vice versa.
  2. Preventing unintended, undiscovered, and unauthorized design changes, and
  3. Knowing which parts of the code are stable, incomplete, or in flux.

These three problems are all related to the larger problem of how to best coordinate the efforts of multiple developers all working on the same project at the same time.
