ArchStudio 4

xArchADT - the Data Store for Architecture Descriptions

xArchADT is the most-used component in the ArchStudio architecture. It exposes an event-based programmatic interface that allows other ArchStudio tools to edit xADL 2.0 architecture descriptions. When a document is opened by any tool in ArchStudio, an in-memory representation of that document is available via xArchADT. Tools can query and manipulate this representation. When the document is saved, the representation is stored to disk in XML format.

Primarily, xArchADT is of use to ArchStudio component developers. Its use and services are better described in the guide to developing ArchStudio components.
