Discovery and Modeling of Development Processes in Open Source CommunitiesStudent: Chris Jensen
Advisors: Walt Scacchi, UCI/ISR and André van der Hoek, UCI/ISR
Abstract: Process discovery has been shown to be challenging offering limited results, however, most work has been conducted in closed source systems. We look at a new approach to process discovery that examines the Internet information spaces of open source software development projects. We look to design techniques to assist process discovery and modeling in an automated fashion.
Bio: Chris Jensen is a Ph.D. student in the School of Information and Computer Science at the University of California Irvine working with Walt Scacchi. Chris's research is currently focused on issues and approaches for discovering free/open source software development processes in projects like NetBeans, Mozilla, and Apache. |
