Michael Gorlick’s (R. Taylor, advisor) paper “COAST: Architectures for Decentralized On-Demand Tailored Services” has been accepted to the 10th Working IEEE/IFIP Conf. on Software Architecture (WICSA) to be held in Helsinki, Finland in August. The paper is co-authored by Ph.D. student Kyle Strasser and their advisor ISR Director Richard N. Taylor.

Nicholas DiGiuseppe (J. Jones, advisor) presented his paper “Software Behavior and Failure Clustering: An Empirical Study of Fault Causality” at the Fifth IEEE International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation (ICST) in Montréal, Canada in April. The paper is co-authored by Prof. James A. Jones.

Benjamin Koehne (D. Redmiles, advisor) interned at Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing, China. With the HCI research group, he studied globally distributed teams that work across time zones. In a joint project between MSR Redmond and MSRA Beijing, he investigated time-shifted collaboration practices using a novel conferencing tool.

Hitesh Sajnani’s (C. Lopes, advisor) paper “Application Architecture Discovery: Towards Domain-driven, Easily Extensible Code Structure” received the Best Paper Award in the industrial track at the 18th Working Conference on Reverse Engineering (WCRE), Limerick, Ireland in Oct. The paper was co-authored by Ravindra Naik (Tata, India) and his advisor Prof. Cristina Lopes.

Bart Knijnenburg (A. Kobsa, advisor) presented his paper “Exploring the Effects of Feed-forward and Feedback on Information Disclosure and User Experience in a Context-Aware Recommender System” at the User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization Conf. (UMAP) in Spain in July. The paper was co-authored by Prof. Alfred Kobsa and Simon Moritz and Martin A. Svensson of Ericsson Research, Sweden.
