Shouldn't DS help solve the DNS problem?

It won't free us from DNS;
but will provide richer info space for DNS-named domains

Schema standardization

Schema to support user/account/service are vendor-specific
  it's hard to get the OS out ...
Hard to represent complex data structures (eg CIM policy)
Will XML solve this problem?

Directory confederations?
